Troublesome dust and dirt can really put a drab on your car’s interior. Instead of using overpriced lint-free cloths, opt for a coffee filter! They’re a super affordable alternative that’ll grab onto all dirt and grime.
Not only are they great for cleaning the crevices between your teeth, toothbrushes are awesome for detailing your car! Gently scrub away dirt from small nooks. You can also use a toothbrush to clean in between car seats and other hard to reach places.
Vaseline is great for skin, but it also does wonders for leather interiors. After a thorough cleaning, dip a clean rag in a bit of vaseline to condition your car’s dash and leather seats. The vaseline will protect the interior and give it a nice sheen.
The worst part about cleaning a car is by far the tricky cup holders. They’re a disgusting magnet for dirt and crumbs. A really great cleaning hack is to cover the bottom of a cup with an old sock and spray Windex on it to twist the dirt away. The porous sock does an excellent job picking up all those crumbs as well.
Ease the Clean by Lining Your Cup Holders with Cupcake Molds
Never spent money on expensive car cleaners again. A tube of baking soda toothpaste does the trick just as well. Rub the paste into your car’s headlights and rinse with water to wash away all traces of grime!
A vacuum can only do so much in removing pet hair. A simple way to rid your car of hair is with a squeegee. But for the squeegee to be fully effective, spray a bit of water over your car’s seats. This will help the squeegee work its magic.
Silly putty has an uncanny knack to get incredibly dirty as they easily stick to every crumb and speck of dirt. Use this fact to your advantage next time you’re cleaning your car. Use it on any surface to remove dirt easily.
Use Lanolin Hair Conditioner to Give Your Car an Inexpensive Wax
Now that you’ve cleaned your car, keep it smelling fresh by applying a few drops of your favorite essential oil onto a clothespin. Stick the clothespin onto your car’s ac vents to blow a steady stream of scent throughout the car. I highly recommend calming lavender for trafficky long drives.
As you can tell, it doesn’t take much money or effort to give your car a deep clean. Most household items can be repurposed into amazing cleaners.
